Jon Pennell is an Air Force veteran, husband, father, and longtime public servant running to represent Missouri House District 55.
Jon spent four years in the United States Air Force maintaining A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. After leaving the military, he continued serving his country as a federal employee, eventually supervising teams that handled Freedom of Information Act requests—work focused on government transparency and accountability.
That career came to an unexpected end when Jon lost his federal job as part of the DOGE cuts.
But losing the job he had dedicated years to didn't diminish Jon's commitment to public service. It strengthened it. After seeing firsthand how decisions made by government can affect workers and their families, Jon came away more determined than ever to serve.
Today, Jon works as a Customer Service Supervisor with Mid-Continent Public Library. He and his wife, Holly, a public school teacher, are raising their three teenagers in the community they call home.
Jon believes representation starts with listening—to working families, educators, veterans, small-business owners, and neighbors who too often feel like nobody in Jefferson City is listening to them.
That's what Listen. Lead. Deliver. means to Jon: listen to the people you represent, lead with integrity and accountability, and then do the work you were elected to do.
If you've met Jon on the campaign trail, there's a good chance it was at your front door. He's been putting in the miles across District 55, knocking doors in communities large and small, listening to his neighbors and talking about the issues that matter in their everyday lives.
Jon has spent much of his life in public service. Now, more than ever, he wants to put that experience to work for the people of District 55 in Jefferson City.
