'17 Christmas Party

Join us for our annual Christmas Party on Friday, December 1st from 6-8pm at the Twin Pines Country Club in Harrisonville.
Bring your favorite side, dessert or appetizers.
We'll be collecting monetary donations for our elves to shop for our adopted families.

Chili-Soup Cook-Off


Do you make a mean pot of soup or chili? Here's your chance to show-off your skills and raise some money for the Cass County Democratic Party.

From 5-6pm bring your family and enjoy the ranch! The Red Barn Ranchhas: a corn maze, barrel train, mini pumpkin painting, corn pit, cotton pit, small slides, big slide, pumpkin bowling, bean bag toss, pumpkin tic tac toe, an antique tractor barn with tractors on display, hay tunnel, and ALL this for only $5/person. The only extra costs are for the pumpkins themselves which are $.50 per pound. And the corn cannon is $1 per shot. 

At 6:00pm the farm will close and the chili/soup judging and pie auction will begin! 

ENTRANTS: Bring your entry pre-cooked and in a crock pot. You are welcome anytime between 5:00pm and 6:00pm and are not required to pay the fee for the ranch experience. Trophies will be awarded for Best Soup, Best Chili, and Peoples Choice!

September Meeting


You are reading this right - there are over 100 elected position in Cass County in 2018.  The change we need at the local, state and national level isn't going to happen if new people with new ideas don't step up and RUN FOR OFFICE!  Filing for municipal elections (city, school board, fire, water, sewer districts) begins on December 12th.  There is so much going on right now in Cass County we want you to be informed and engaged, join us Thursday night!

Renee Hoagenson - US House of Representatives

Renee is a native Missourian. As a child, her family moved to Warrensburg where her father attended what is now the University of Central Missouri after serving in the Army during Vietnam. The Kennedys then moved to Greenwood, a small town near Lee’s Summit.

At 18, Renee moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She continues to make her home in Columbia.

Renee’s professional expertise is in small business marketing and development. After a career including work in radio, television and newspaper, Renee created Columbia Marketplace Magazine and Jefferson City Marketplace Magazine in 2003 and 2004, respectively. She created additional niche marketing products to contribute to the growth and success of small business owners.

Recently Renee sold the magazine she created in Sedalia, Showcase Sedalia, which she started in 2011, to concentrate full time on her campaign for the US Congress. Renee understands that business is ultimately people, people working hard to build something of value for others, create jobs and be successful.

Renee believes in the value of service to others as a principle of a happy life. She seeks to understand the plight of others and to create community. She is proud to be a Rotarian, an organization focused on service. Renee joined Columbia Metro Rotary in 2003 and served on the board for four years. Currently, she is a member of the Sedalia Rotary Club where she has served as a board member. She served on the board of the Phoenix Programs for many years. She has been active in fundraising events for Great Circle, a behavioral health organization for children.

Renee is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Columbia where she has served as a wedding coordinator and communion minister.

Renee, a single mother, has three children born in Columbia. Alicia is starting her masters in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Missouri, Eric is in his first year at the University of Missouri and Jenna is at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia.

McCaskill Town Hall Tour Comes to Harrisonville



Join us as we welcome Claire McCaskill to Cass County! 2 p.m. Friday in the sheriff's office training room inside the Cass County Justice Center, located at 2501 W. Mechanic St. in Harrisonville.

July Monthy Meeting


Join us Thursday night, at Brierly Hall, 277 W. 1st St. in Peculiar, Missouri.  Do you want a say in what we stand for as Missouri Democrats?  Now is your chance.  Jalen Anderson, the Chair of the Platform Committee, will be joining us to get our input on issues that are important to us and what we think should be in the Platform of the Missouri Democratic Party.  

We'll also have a representative from Clean Missouri to explain the petition to end gerrymandering and implement real campaign finance reform.  

Dinner is catered at 6:30 pm for $12.00.  The meeting starts at 7:00 pm.
