In 2020, they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Vocal Performance with a Minor in Theatre from William Jewell College. Shortly after, they acquired their Master's of Music in voice from Texas Tech University. Since returning to her hometown of Kansas City, Burly has taken the drag scene by storm with her quick wit, vibrant personality, and masterful vocal ability. She is most regularly seen at Missie B’s, Nighthawk, and The Bottleneck. You can find her all over Kansas City and Lawrence, hosting & performing in shows with other drag performers, musical ensembles, and comedians. February Cass Dems Meeting

Join us at 6:00 pm on Thursday, the 26th, at the North Cass Resource Center (Belton Library)

We’ll begin promptly at 6:00 PM, and once we move through our brief business items and our candidates who have filed for upcoming elections, we’re excited to welcome Hartzell Gray.

Hartzell is one of three candidates currently vying to unseat Trump’s lackey, Mark Alford. Hartzell has a unique story and is looking forward to sharing his vision and plans for our district and listening to our concerns.

Over the years, Hartzell has amplified the lived experiences of his working-class neighbors, helped organize tenant unions, stood shoulder to shoulder with youth-led campaigns demanding justice, and fought to center the voices of those pushed to the margins.

Hartzell isn't running for Congress to play politics. He's running to fight for a just economy, affordable housing, universal healthcare, and a future where working people come first.

Whether you’re ready to run for office, volunteer on a campaign, or simply want to be part of a community of like-minded people, you are welcome here.

It’s Time for Big Change in Cass County

If You’ve Ever Said “Someone Should Run”…

This is the moment.

Balanced government matters.
Oversight matters.
Transparency matters.
Responsible growth planning matters.

Cass County deserves leadership that will meet this moment.

Maybe that leader is you.

Cass County is the 10th largest county in Missouri — and we continue to grow. That growth isn’t slowing down. But our county government hasn’t kept pace.

Cass County hasn’t elected a Democrat since 2014. Currently, Democrats hold zero elected positions in county government. Zero.

That does not reflect the people who live here — and it shows.

With no political balance in county government, there is no meaningful oversight. No accountability. No transparency.

Meetings are held during the workday when most residents cannot attend.
Meetings are canceled with notices taped to courthouse doors.

It’s 2026. That’s unacceptable.

Public meetings should be accessible. Growth should be managed responsibly. County government should work for the people — not operate behind closed doors.

Cass County deserves leadership that:

  • Plans for growth
  • Values transparency
  • Supports education and economic opportunity
  • Welcomes public engagement
  • Reflects the full community it serves

Now is the moment to step up.

January Cass Dems Meeting

Despite everything, we must continue to show up and speak out. The way we challenge Republicans at every level, county, state, and national, is by stepping up and running for office. We're under the thumb of Republican supermajorities at the county, state, and national levels, and saying that it's not going well is a real understatement!

Join us on Thursday, January 22nd, at 6:00 PM at the North Cass Resource Center in Belton for our regular meeting. We’ll begin promptly at 6:00 PM, and once we move through our brief business items, we’re excited to welcome Jordan Herrera.
Jordan is one of four candidates currently vying to unseat Mark Alford. He has a unique story and looks forward to sharing his vision and plans for our district, as well as listening to our concerns.

Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share; we’ll take care of the main meal. And if you’re feeling adventurous, get a white elephant gift for our gift exchange—last year’s was a blast!

We're also collecting items from the Hope Haven Wish List. Please feel free to help spread some holiday cheer!
